(Larry Bennett Photography) | | New head of Immigration Raymundo Andreas is trying to facilitate the life of those who wish to live here. The previous head who caused quite a commotion here has been out of office for months. Raymundo Andreas from Guadalajara is educated in law and chemical engineering.
He sees himself as a public server. He is working on a way concerning permission of volunteers to work with various charities. Concern from government is about abuse. The associations/charities must be registered with DIF (social services).
Raymundo Andreas has implemented amnesty for foreigners who do not have work papers or other papers. Check with Immigration about what is needed by the government. Thank you to Analisa Morel of Vallarta Today for some of this information.
The Humpback whales are back in Banderas Bay. Very nice Keith May, who is involved in research and information about whales, is thrilled. Go to PuertoVallartaWhaleWatching.org to join Keith on a viewing of the Humpback whales.
A big celebration for Los Mangos Library's 11th anniversary is at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 27. A concert opens the evening. Sally Conley will be remembered with the opening of the children´s library. Click HERE for more information.
Coco's restaurant on Pulpito near the beach will be serving dinner now, beginning December 9 from 5-11 pm. Her homemade recipes will be featured. For instance, she will have four different chiles rellenos and four different enchiladas.
Mikki Prost has hit the stage on Wednesdays with singing and dancing at 8:00 p.m. at Santa Barbara Theater on Olas Altas on the southside. Mikki didn't open as planned earlier because of a bout with dengue.
The late Peter Gray, artist and other magnificent talents, will be honored, this time by the Centro Universitario de la Costa, at 5:00 pm on November 27, at the Museo de Arte Peter Gray. Click HERE for more information.
The gathering at the November breakfast by U.S. consular agent Kelly Trainor at the yacht club in La Cruz was lovely. Many school needs gifts were contributed. The next breakfast on December 18 will be in Puerto Vallarta at River Cafe. More information will be coming.
What a Becas opening breakfast! La Palapa, with its excellent food, was filled with 150 diners. More were on the waiting list. Polly Vicars put together an extensive auction of items. It was so good to see friends and visitors. And, most importantly, scholarships will be provided to local children. The next breakfast is at River Cafe on December 16. More information will be coming.
This year's Hook the Cure Fishing Tournament brought in $450,000 net for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The usual wonderful fund raiser was at Outback Steakhouse for Make A Wish, Pasitos de Luz and Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza (R.I.S.E.), all helping children.
