Honduran Government, US Puppet: Election Expert Inside Costa Rica go to original December 02, 2009
| Eduardo Bahr (globedia.com) | | Tegucigalpa - Honduran political observer and analyst Eduardo Bahr said Monday the government elected Sunday will be a puppet of US policy in Central America.
"The winner in these elections has to follow the guidelines of Washington and act as an ideological cap on the progressive ideas in the south of the continent," said Bahr in an interview to news agency TELESUR Monday. Bahr said that Porfirio Lobo, the winner in the Sunday elections, will have to face a very organized resistance.
Gathered in the National Resistance Front against the Coup the popular opposition to the coupist government of Honduras is strengthened and with the bases for a new political party, said Bahr.
He also said the level of abstention reached close to 70 percent in the elections, a record in the nation.
Bahr, director of the Honduran National Library, was a political observer during the elections, which were characterized by repression and considered a sham by the international community. |
