There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. So we've put together a brief overview of some of this week's news headlines from local Spanish language publications, and added some upcoming events you won't want to miss.
Banderas Bay Business Women Unite
Motivated by the natural need for improvement, the Banderas Bay Chapter of Asociación Mexicana de Mujeres Empresarias (Mexican Association of Business Women) was added this past December 8th. The inauguration ceremony took place at Marival Resorts & Suites in Nuevo Vallarta with over 100 of Banderas Bay’s most successful women. As the witness of honor, Bahía de Banderas Mayor Hector Paniagua gave a speech that motivated all the women in attendance to better their already successful careers.
New Water Purification Plant for Las Palmas
The Banderas Bay area, as well as its surrounding cities keep growing and improving - with no signs of stopping. This time with a project taking place in Las Palmas. A brand new water purification plant was finished in the town this past December 8th.
This is wonderful news to all of its inhabitants. We all know how important clean water is to the human body, especially in the winter months when the chances of catching a flu or cold increase. This is why the plant could not have been finished at a better time.
Puerto Vallarta Tax Dollars at Work
Jorge Alberto Salinas Osorio, head of Jalisco’s Hacienda (IRS), approved the annual budget, which will be given to Puerto Vallarta on December 31st. The money will benefit PV’s environment by improving water purification, drainage, and sewage systems.
The total amount earmarked for Vallarta will be $606,384,777 pesos, which will allow the improvement projects to start as early as January 3, 2010 and continue through the beginning of the following year, when a new budget will be given.
