Nine legal rabble-rousers who'd never make President Obama’s shortlist. But we can dream.
With President Obama poised to nominate his second Supreme Court justice any day now, we asked some of our favorite court watchers to weigh in with their own fantasy picks. Never mind the narrow politics of modern nomination fights. Forget about finding personalities to keep Anthony Kennedy in the liberal bloc. We asked them simply to nominate a justice who'd make them excited about the court. One thing is clear: the pickings ain't slim. So we managed to put together a full fantasy Supreme Court.

Take a look. Maybe the White House will put one on its list after all.
