Mexico Signs Venue Agreement for COP16/CMP16 Suzanne Stephens Waller - Presidencia de la República go to original August 04, 2010
Tuesday in Bonn, Germany, the Venue Agreement was signed between the Mexican Government and the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change regarding the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 6th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP16/CMP6) to be held in Cancún in November and December.
Executive Secretary Christina Figueres signed on behalf of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Under-Secretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Foreign Affairs Secretariat (SRE) Ambassador Juan Manuel Gómez Robledo signed on behalf of Mexico.
Other signatories included SRE Chief Clerk and Director of Logistic Organization and Administrative Affairs for the Conference Julio Camarena Villaseñor and Member of Transparency International representing Transparencia Mexicana, Maximillian Heywood.
Transparencia Mexicana will accompany the administrative process of COP16/CMP6 to ensure that it is carried out with the necessary transparency and legality.
The Chief Clerk met with the various delegations to resolve issues related to the organization, logistics and administration of the event.
