The President said it is a great day for Spanish literature, since one of its great contemporary writers has received the highest award for universal literature.
He hailed Mario Vargas Llosa as a man of letters, an intellectual committed to liberal values, a prolific writer who has won several awards, and a journalist and essayist, whose work is a vital source of understanding and reflection of our complex political and social reality. |
