Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On October 13, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board announced that the destination is back to normal after Hurricane Jova's close encounter with Mexico's Pacific Coast on October 12 and all tourism activity is in full swing.
"We can report that at this point all hotels, tour operators and all tourism activity is back to normal in Puerto Vallarta, including the airport which never stopped operations," said Salvador Peña, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board. "We welcome all our visitors to come and enjoy our many leisure activities and some fun in the sun."
The city of Puerto Vallarta's preventative warning was lifted as of 3:00 pm EST on October 12, 2011, and all activities are back to full operation mode under a clear blue sky, including its port, which welcomed Carnival Cruises on Wednesday.
Preparations are also back on track for the inauguration of the new Malecón, Puerto Vallarta's famous boardwalk, and the Pan American Games.
