Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. Here's a look at some of this week's local happenings, some community announcements, and a couple of upcoming events that you won't want to miss.
Corazón de Niña Charity BINGO at ACT II Piano Bar
Come join the fun on Wednesday, August 20th as ACT II Piano Bar hosts a great night of Charity BINGO to benefit Casa Hogar Corazón de Niña, a local non-profit children’s shelter dedicated to providing housing, education, food, medical care and love to young girls who have been removed from their homes due to unstable living conditions. We'll be playing 8 games of BINGO for great prizes valued at a minimum of $500 pesos, and the Blackout game prize will be worth at least $1000 pesos. On the night of the games, you'll get 3 cards for $100 pesos, but if you attend the
Corazon event this Friday at ACT II you will have the opportunity to prepay for your cards & you will receive 4 cards for $100 pesos! Great raffle prizes too! How about a 3 night stay at Casa Isabel? A $400 peso gift certificate to Si Señor or The Blue Shrimp? A free haircut & eyebrow threading? Gift certificate to Langostinos? The ACT II Entertainment complex is located on the corner of Insurgentes and Basilio Badillo on Puerto Vallarta's South side. Join us in the air-conditioned comfort of ACT II's Piano Bar for a great evening of fun and friendship!
Wish List for Banderas Bay Women's Shelter
Soon, much needed services will be available to local women who are living in abusive situations. A local group called
"Vida Reavivida/Compassion for the Family" is
building an emergency shelter for women who are victims of domestic and sexual violence. Thanks to everyone who has supported the Banderas Bay Women's Shelter with their time, finances, and prayers, the structure is approaching completion, and they are now asking for donations of clothing, bedding and towels for the shelter. They are also in need of lots of furniture, most importantly beds and mattresses. To that special person who is feeling really generous they also need a vehicle, a mini van or a SUV with lots of seats. If you can help, please contact the shelter's director,
David Zude, via Facebook or email at
compassionforthefamily(at)yahoo.com.mx. Donations are tax deductible for U.S. citizens.
ExPats in Vallarta Happy Hours are Back!
Mike and Sara Wise are back and ready to resume ExPats in Vallarta Happy Hours. They are looking forward to seeing you and sharing a cold beverage and great food with you, so join them on Tuesday, August 19th from 7-9 pm at Langostinos on Los Muertos Beach, just north of the pier. ExPats in Vallarta is a group of great, friendly, helpful, people, and their Happy Hours are the simplest way to get to know fellow ExPats living in the Puerto Vallarta area. If you are a first timer, let them know when you get there and they'll introduce you to other ExPats. So come on down, meet a few of these nice people, have some great food and drinks, relax, and watch the sun set! Reservations are required and can be made via their website -
ExpatsInVallarta.com - or by sending an email to
sarajwise(at)yahoo.com. Langostinos needs a head count so please be sure to include the number of people in your party.
