Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. Here's a look at some of this week's Vallarta news headlines, some community announcements, and a couple of this weekend's events that you won't want to miss.
Jessica Alba Holidays in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
She was once crowned the 'Sexiest Woman In The World' by FHM Magazine. And it definitely wasn't hard to see why as Jessica Alba sunned herself on holiday in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico last week with her husband Cash Warren and their daughters Honor, six, and Haven, three. This is one celebrity that never seems to waiver on the hot front. While the Christmas season left most of us a few pounds heavier, Jessica Alba looks more in shape than ever. Stepping out in Mexico last week, the
Sin City actress flaunted her seriously toned figure and washboard stomach in two simple yet flattering bikinis teamed with stylish Quay Australia Livnow sunglasses - the green-eyed monster was rife in all of us. Ten years after they first met on the set of superhero film
Fantastic Four, Jessica and Cash's chemistry is still evident. The 33-year-old star waded into the water with her producer hubby, where they floated around in the shallows as she wrapped her arms around his neck. The couple's two daughters were nowhere to be seen, leaving the lovebirds - who tied the knot in 2008 - to enjoy a romantic day in the sun.
Puerto Vallarta Garden Club Meeting at No Way José!
The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club will hold their monthly meeting at 11 am on Thursday, January 15, at No Way José!, located at 5 de Febrero #260, in the Zona Romantica. Lunch options will be available. The Guest Speaker will be
Leslie Korn, PhD, MPH. Dr. Korn has lived in the Bahía since 1973 conducting traditional medicine and ethnobotanical research and directing a public health clinic serving indigenous communities in Cabo Corrientes. She is the author of
Rhythms of Recovery: Trauma, Nature and the Body,

Medicinal Plants of the Jungle. Her books will be available for purchase at the meeting. Over the past few years, the P.V. Garden Club has planted hundreds of bougainvillea throughout town. Planting, fertilizing, pruning, watering and supporting them with sturdy poles is entirely the work of members and supporters of PVGC. We encourage you to join our effort. Donations can be left in care of our Treasurer, Matthias Vogt, at Mailboxes Etc. Box #298, or via Paypal through the
Garden Club's website. Commemorative tiles on the PVGC planters around town can be sponsored for $5200 pesos, which includes a memorial tribute of your choosing. You can be a sponsor too! Contact us or ask about this at the meeting.
Riviera Nayarit One Of Travel Weekly's "Preview 2015: Destinations"
Top tourism publications publish their recommendations and classifications for the upcoming year every January.
Travel Weekly, one of the leading indicators of tourism trends, included the Riviera Nayarit in its "Preview 2015: Destinations" segment. This is just one of the end results of the different international press trips sponsored by the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) during 2014; Gay Nagle Myers, recognized journalist and author of the article, participated in one of those visits. "Mexico's Riviera Nayarit, which cannot seem do anything wrong. It's being billed as Mexico's new holiday destination on the Pacific coast, attracting well-heeled stars, socialites and plenty of positive social media," wrote Myers as one of her bullet points. From Mexico only Cancun and the Riviera Maya were included in the article as traditional mainstays, with the Riviera Nayarit mentioned as the newest place to visit. The prestige this represents for the destination is huge, as the recommendations included destinations from around the world. See the full list of
