Hotel Marriott Hosts Becas Vallarta's Planning Session

The torrential rains that have wreaked such havoc on Puerto Vallarta and its environs have not dampened the spirits of Becas Vallarta supporters. A small tireless group of members recently met at the Marriott Hotel, where plans were made for a fantastic season for Becas Vallarta.
Banderas Bay Communities Ravaged by Rains

As many of you already know, many communities throughout the Bay of Banderas area have been negatively affected by the recent heavy rains. As a result, many homes in the affected area have been damaged, leaving some people homeless and in need of YOUR help and support.
Vallarta Celebrates Mexico's Bicentennial

September is the month when Mexico celebrates Fiestas Patrias, or Mexican Independence, with the Grito of "Viva Mexico!" This year marks the 200th Anniversary of Mexico's Independence and, here in Puerto Vallarta, there's plenty of entertainment and lots of activities going on all month long.

Despite the fact that September is considered the hardest month of the year to do fund raising, that the economy both in Mexico and the United States is awful, that most of the 'snowbirds' have not returned to Vallarta, the September 2 Outback Dinner was a rousing success!

New Amateur Theater in Old Town Vallarta

Karrie and Ken Sebryk of Pen and Inc Entertainment are delighted to start a new amateur theater in Puerto Vallarta. Located at Cathy Von Rohr's Studio, this theater will be a place where locals can become involved in the performing arts.
The Spice Girls in Puerto Vallarta?

I wouldn't have believed it, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. The Spice Girls, otherwise known as the Fab Five, performed at Paco's Ranch last Tuesday. They reunited for a special fund-raiser for SETAC, Vallarta's first ever - nay, Mexico's first ever - Community Centre for LGBT people.
Those Burned Kittens at Pet Heaven - How are They Doing?

You never know when a 'situation' will pop up and change your life forever, but one did pop up for me during June of this year when three burned kittens were found wandering around on the dirt road at the turn-in to Pet Heaven, a no-kill cat shelter just outside of Puerto Vallarta.

School of Champions Summer Camp 2010 Starts with a Splash

This year's School of Champions Summer Camp started off with a splash as 30 of the 130 kids who enrolled in the 4 week camp went swimming at a local private recreation center. Other children participated in activities such as computer classes, arts and crafts, soccer and basketball.

2010 Altruism Festival Funds Distributed

This year's Puerto Vallarta International Festival of Altruism was a great success! Earlier this week, the $578,400 pesos raised on May 2nd were distributed among 24 Banderas Bay charitable organizations, with each charity receiving a $24,100 peso check.
