Merida, Yucatán - Earlier today, during a working tour of the State of Yucatán, President Felipe Calderón led the Official Inaugural Ceremony of the 66th General Assembly of the Inter-American Press Society, held in the municipality of Mérida.

During the Official Opening Ceremony of the 66th General Assembly of the Inter-American Press Society, held in Mérida, Yucatán, the President said that, "Freedom of the press is a right not a concession."

The Inter-American Press Society is a non-profit association that groups together publications from the Western Hemisphere interested in promoting and protecting freedom of the press and countries' right to be informed in the New World.
