Nayarit, Mexico - The IX Pacific Alliance Summit, which will bring together Presidents Enrique Peņa Nieto of Mexico; Ollanta Humal of Peru; Michelle Bachelet of Chile; and Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia, will be held in the Mexican State of Nayarit June 19-20, 2014.
The State of Nayarit was chosen to host the summit meeting because of the international perspective of its safety, in addition to the state government's successful efforts to promote Mexico tourism in different parts of the world.
In this respect, Governor Roberto Sandoval Castaņeda stated that Nayarit has become an internationally preferred tourist destination, not only for vacation and investment, but also for conducting meetings - all key issues for developing tourism in Latin American countries.
"Again Nayarit will host an international event; this summit will greatly benefit tourism and economic development in Nayarit and other parts of Mexico. I thank our President, Enrique Peņa Nieto, and the leaders of the Pacific Alliance countries for setting their sights on our state, which you can be sure will offer them quality care and warmth," the Nayarit Governor said.
The Governor also congratulated Enrique Peņa Nieto, who will be appointed president pro tempore during this meeting in Nayarit, which means he will be guiding all of the agreements made at the IX Pacific Alliance Summit.
Note that the Summit will be preceded by meetings of deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Tourism, as well as the foreign ministers of the four countries of the bloc, which pushes for free trade.
It is worth mentioning that the Pacific Alliance was created in April 2011 and has among its more ambitious plans total relief in trade of goods and services between the four nations that comprise it.
In February of this year, Nayarit hosted another event of international importance, the Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons, organized by the UN, in which more than 140 countries participated.
The transmission could be seen in more than 60 countries.
