George Clooney's Casamigos Tequila Takes the Gold

go to original
April 10, 2017

As if we needed another reason to throw back tequila: George Clooney, the award-winning actor-director, is now stocking US, Canada, UK, Australia and Hong Kong bars with his ultra-premium tequilas, Casamigos.

Jalisco, Mexico - Casamigos Tequila – the brand owned by longtime friends George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Michael Meldman – has won gold in the Mexico Anejo Tequila of the Year category.

Launched in the UK in 2015, Casamigos is named after Rande Gerber and George Clooney's houses in Mexico and roughly translates as "house of friends."

Currently available in Blanco, Reposado and Añejo, these small batch ultra-premium tequilas are made from hand-selected 100% Blue Weber agaves, grown in the rich red clay soil and cool climate of Mexico's Jalisco Highlands for a minimum of seven years.

Before going into the bottle, each batch is tasted and approved by the brand's master distiller, as well as Rande Gerber and George Clooney himself.

"We worked on the creation of Casamigos Tequila with our master distiller in Jalisco, Mexico, for years and held many blind tastings until we knew we got it right," George said. "We've been drinking Casamigos with friends and family for over six years."

Since the conception of the brand, Casamigos Tequila has received a host of globally-recognized awards and is currently distributed in over 20 countries including the United States, Canada, the UK, Ibiza, Australia, Hong Kong and the Bahamas.
