Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Restaurant Week, the gastronomic festival organized by Vallarta Lifestyles Media Group, beat its record for participating restaurants with 59 affiliations for its 14th edition, set to take place later this year. The former record was set in 2012, with 45 participating restaurants.
From this year on, Vallarta Restaurant Week will run for 10 more days. The festival will begin on May 15 as usual, but it will end on June 10. This extension aims to provide tourists and locals with the opportunity to sample the great and varied culinary offerings of our destination.
All participating restaurants will offer innovative, three-course menus (with three different options) at fixed prices (tips and beverages not included). Another major change this year is that for the very first time there will be three menu price categories depending on the participating restaurant: $269, $399 and $466 MXN, which in some cases represent up to 50% discount.
Restaurants joining Vallarta Restaurant Week for the very first time are: Agrodolce, Ambrosia Grill, Azafrán, Da Simone, De Cántaro, Eishan Oriental Cuisine, La Cappella, La Pancha, La Trattoria, Katana Sushi & Bar, Mamá Sirena, Matiz, Restaurante Icú, Sapori Di Sicilia, Sushi Pop, Teresa Bar & Bistro, Vallarta Factory and Warique Restaurante.
Restaurant Week History
Backed by the Riviera Nayarit Visitors and Conventions Bureau and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, and sponsored by Primera Piedra Vinos de Chile; Restaurant Week was founded in 2005 inspired by gastronomic festivals from other major tourist destinations around the globe. When it was established, Restaurant Week had the aim of boosting the local economy in a month that was already considered as low season. Nowadays, May is a very active month in which many events take place, but Restaurant Week is still one of the most consolidated.
