The concept of gourmet hamburgers has swept the world and has reached Puerto Vallarta at one of the oldest Gastro bars in the heart of Old Town - Café San Ángel. Located on a busy corner of Olas Altas, this eclectic sidewalk cafe is a favorite gathering place for locals and visitors alike. In addition to fabulous food, this family owned and run cafe offers a great place to hang out, relax, and enjoy some of the best people-watching in town.
Open daily from 8 am to 2 am, Café San Ángel is sometimes called "THE BREAKFAST CLUB," a name given to the restaurant by customers who enjoy the first meal of the day (three-egg Western omelets, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, tropical fruit plates, etc.) there every day during their entire stay in Puerto Vallarta.
The cafe also serves exceptional fruit smoothies, iced blended coffees, and other coffee drinks. Deli sandwiches, flavorful salads, Mexican specialties, burritos, quesadillas, and a variety of desserts round out the menu, but they are most famous for their outstanding burgers, which has given them another nickname, "THE HAMBURGER GRILL."
Their extensive burger menu includes original creations such as the Border Patrol, the Paleo Burger, the Mexico City Blues, and others with unique names and ingredients. They also offer vegetarian burgers and the peculiar yellow fin tuna fish burger covered with sesame seeds and Teriyaki sauce.
Though some may argue that it is difficult to pronounce "San Angel" (SAN ANN-HELL), everyone agrees that Café San Ángel is like two different restaurants separated not by space, but rather by time... Morning: THE BREAKFAST CLUB. Lunch and dinner: THE HAMBURGER GRILL @ San Ángel.
In addition to the sidewalk tables, Café San Ángel offers comfortable couches and chairs inside for those who prefer to enjoy their meal in a more relaxed atmosphere. Bar service and Internet access are also available.
Open daily from 8 am to 2 am, Café San Ángel is located at Olas Altas #449, at Calle Francisca Rodriguez on the South Side of Puerto Vallarta. A sister cafe of the same name can be found at Avenida Fluvial Vallarta #201 at Los Tules, a few blocks east of the Francisco Villa intersection.
