Hacienda Jalisco, San Sebastian del Oeste Experience the Charm of Old Mexico
Nestled within the lush, mountain region of the Sierra Madres exists one of Mexico's most tranquil, magical hideaways, Hacienda Jalisco. Located approximately two hours outside of Puerto Vallarta in beautiful San Sebastian del Oeste, this charming bed and breakfast offers guest suites designed to relax the mind and soothe the soul.
Hacienda Jalisco's meditative atmosphere offers a tranquil experience that guarantees that guests leave re-energized and refreshed, and the Inn's lush, uncompromised grounds strengthen your peaceful experience by allowing you to take a step back and relax within nature. Guided personal tours are also available.
Built 170 years ago by the Spanish guard, Hacienda Jalisco is encompassed with history and artifact. Antiques, books, original maps and ledgers throughout highlight the Hacienda's rich history. An impressive wrap-around balcony offers amazing views, and the individual bedrooms soothe and relax with romantic fireplaces and beautiful art. And, as there is no electricity at the hacienda, the soft glow of oil lamps illuminate the grounds.
With an on-site chef, guests are spoiled with the finest cuisine, with most all the produce grown fresh on the premises. There's an extensive international alcohol and wine menu, and special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.
With a rich history of its own, the quiet, colonial town of San Sebastian offers beautiful atmosphere filled with small artisan shops. Once a thriving mining town, the residents of San Sebastian now raise maguey cactus and rich coffee beans amidst the ancient pine and oak forests.
Hacienda Jalisco offers accommodations in several room sizes and on multi-level floors, as well as several room and dining packages, so there are prices accessible for all budgets. Open all year long, the Hacienda Jalisco's rates do vary depending on the time of year. Summer rates apply from June through October and winter rates apply from October through June.
Always happy to help with transportation arrangements, including car rentals, the Hacienda Jalisco also offers its guests driver pick up and return.
Hacienda Jalisco does require a non-refundable 50% deposit paid in pesos or US dollars and does not accept credit cards as there are no banks in San Sebastian. Also, please note there are no children under 12 and no pets allowed.
So, if you are looking for a change from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Vallarta, escape to Hacienda Jalisco and soak in the history, culture, ecology and tranquility that have made it one of Mexico's last great getaways.
