Urgent Blood Donations Needed Kelly Trainor de O. - U.S. Consular Agent Vallarta
| If you have any questions, please call the Blood Bank at San Javier Hospital at 226-1010, or contact me at consularagentpvr(at)prodigy.net.mx. | | The U.S. Consular Agency of Vallarta is requesting urgent blood donations, Any Type, for an American citizen resident in Bucerias, Nayarit. The American Citizen is in delicate condition and requires 4 to 5 units of transfusion, as soon as possible, but the local blood bank does not have his type of blood.
The blood bank, located on the 2nd floor at San Javier Marina Hospital, across from the Maritime Terminal in Puerto Vallarta, opens at 8 am. Donations should be made in the name of Martin Beheny or U.S. Consular Agency.
The Puerto Vallarta Blood Bank adheres to strict hygiene regulations similar to U.S. standards. Guidelines to donate blood are as follows:
• 18-62 years of age • In good health • Fast for 8-12 hours prior to donating • No smoking for 8 hours prior • No alcohol 12-24 hours prior to donating • No previous drug abuse (with needles), no homosexual activity, no prostitution. (These are the rules of the blood bank here.) • No medications for 8 hours. No aspirin for 72 hours. (Call ahead to learn if the medications you are taking will disqualify you from donating.) • Not menstruating • Not breast feeding.
Please show up at the Hospital before breakfast.
If you donate blood, please call the U.S. Consular Agency at (322) 222-0069 or email consularagentpvr(at)prodigy.net.mx so that the donation can be verified with the local blood bank, and will be assigned to Mr. Beheny.
