On Friday, February 8th, Vallarta Enfrenta el SIDA, (Vallarta Confronts AIDS) together with Centro Ambulatorio para la Prevención y Atención de SIDA e Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual (CAPASITS) and the municipal HIV agency COMUSIDA, Secretaría de Salud Jalisco y Laboratorio de Patología Clínica Vallarta, will be presenting a Free Health Fair in the Main Plaza of El Pitillal.
From 9 am until 4 pm, HIV/AIDS medical experts and general health professionals will be on hand to provide counseling and testing for a broad range of medical conditions, including diabetes detection, blood pressure testing, obesity and nutrition, health issues faced by older persons, child vaccinations, prevention of dengue, and of course, HIV rapid testing and counseling.
All services are completely free and confidential.
Besides providing a full-time psychologist dedicated to patient counseling, Vallarta Enfrenta el SIDA provides patients with medicines, laboratory studies, and even covers some administrative expenses at the CAPASITS Clinic.
In addition, they organize health fairs where HIV testing and counseling are provided, and they operate condom distribution and other prevention and education programs. El viernes 8 de febrero del 2008, la organización Vallarta Enfrenta el SIDA, A.C. en conjunto con el Centro Ambulatorio para la Prevención y Atención de SIDA e Infecciones de Transmisión Sexual (CAPASITS), COMUSIDA, Secretaría de Salud Jalisco y Laboratorio de Patología Clínica Vallarta; llevarán a cabo una Feria de Salud en la Plaza Principal del Pitillal. A partir de 9 am, y hasta las 4 pm, donde no solo habrá expertos en VIH/SIDA, también los habrá sobre salud en general.
Invitamos al publico a participar con nosotros, en donde habrán platicas y pruebas, incluyendo detección de diabetes, detección de alta presión, obesidad y nutrición, salud para adultos mayores, vacunas para niños, prevención del dengue, y por supuesto pruebas rapidas del VIH y consejerías. Todos los servicios son completamente gratuitos y confidenciales.
