Admission is $200 pesos, and all of the proceeds go to V.E.S., Vallarta Enfrenta el SIDA, A.C. (Vallarta Confronts AIDS in English.) They provide free AIDS testing, as well as passing out condoms. One Bid at a Time: Los Mangos Library will hold its 9th Annual Auction to raise funds. Some of the projects benefiting from these efforts are the Lecture Club, the Children's Orchestra, the Homework Club, a computer workshop and a mobile library. The auction will feature art from local and international artists, hotel stays, dinners and much more. The event will serve up cocktails and appetizers. A Howling Good Time: The fifth Grand Dog Show will take place on January 24 and 25 on the Los Mangos Library grounds. The event starts at 10 am. There are lots of contests, including best-dressed and most obedient. Admission is only $25 pesos and you don't even need a pet to attend. The funds raised will benefit El Centro de Acopio Animal, the Puerto Vallarta Animal Shelter. They have adoption and educational programs, plus spay and neuter clinics.
