The US Consular Agent, the Hotel Marriott and HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta would like to remind everyone of the upcoming Medical Expo on November 22, 2010 from 9 am until 7 pm being held at the Hotel Marriott. This is most definitely something folks will want to mark on their calendars and attend!
This no-charge event will feature a vast array of medical services, exhibiting their products and giving information on services. Meet physicians, ask questions, learn about local labs and diagnostic centers, hospitals – anything and everything to do with your health and well-being. There will be mini-presentations given throughout the day as well as some healthy cooking classes.
A first-of-its-kind event, we are very excited! Over the next few weeks, we will be featuring an article on a specific exhibitor. We are pleased and extremely proud to announce the participation of UCSD Hospital (San Diego) who will be bringing six top-notch physicians focusing on various health issues. What an opportunity for us all to glean vital health care information from these prestigious physicians!
Dr. Lawrence Friedman will outline some of the key features of Health Care Reform and some of the ways it may affect all attendees. He will focus on the factors leading up to reform and what US citizens might expect over the next several years as HealthCare Reform is implemented.
He will be offering a practical presentation with an attempt to simplify an often misunderstood and sometimes complicated topic. Regardless of whether you live in Mexico full time or part time, Health Care Reform is definitely a timely topic for all US citizens. He will be available throughout the day for your individual questions.
Dr. Friedman became the first Medical Director of Ambulatory and Primary Care at the University of California, San Diego in 1998. Since then, he has also become Medical Director of Managed Care, Medical Group Quality and Safety and Director of the UCSD Clinical Telemedicine Program.
He is Professor of Clinical Medicine in the departments of Medicine and Pediatrics. He is also co-founder of the Community Collaborative that provides free medical services to homeless and run-away youth in San Diego, California.
Prior to arriving to UCSD in 1994, Dr. Friedman was the acting Division Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Deaconess Hospital in Boston and a member of the faculty in the Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University and completed internship and residency at the Deaconess Hospital in Boston followed by a General Medicine fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
