Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - It’s hard to believe we are in a new year! I have already broken one of my resolutions – to have the newsletter out early. Oh well... maybe next month!

Here at HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta, we are proud of our accomplishments this past year. We have served approximately (average) 500 people per month this past year. Of course, a huge thanks to the physicians that we work with!

January Clinics:

Note: These are all SCREENING clinics – no procedures are performed. All appointments must be made through HealthCare Resources, not directly with the location/physician. January 10, 2012 - Skin Clinic
This is a screening for skin cancer performed by an oncologist.
Cost: $275 pesos - Plus members pay: $225 pesos

January 16, 2012 - Ear Clinic
This is a complete "ear check" and cleaning by an ENT. Note: This is NOT a hearing test!
Cost: $375 pesos - Plus members pay: $325 pesos

January 18, 2012 - Skin Clinic
This is a screening for skin cancer performed by an oncologist.
Cost: $275 pesos - Plus members pay: $225 pesos

January 19, 2012 - Foot Clinic
This is performed by a podiatrist, checking your footsies and toes, pressure, corns – the works!
Cost: $300 pesos - Plus members pay: $250 pesos

January 20, 2012 - Mammogram Clinic
Includes digital mammogram, ultrasound (IF FOUND NECESSARY), manual exam. **We now have a radiologist (female) who is a SPECIALIST in mammograms. The only one in the area!
Cost: $920 pesos - Plus members pay: $820 pesos

January 24, 2012 - Women’s Clinic
Includes pap smear, pelvic exam, consult with a bi-lingual female OB/GYN.
Cost: $775 pesos - Plus members pay: $690 pesos

January 25, 2012 - Vascular Clinic
Check all pulses and complete exam of legs/ankles, varicose veins, clots – performed by a Vascular Specialist.
Cost: $400 pesos - Plus members pay: $350 pesos

January 26, 2012 - Eye Clinic
Check for glaucoma, eye pressure, vision. Performed by opthamologist.
Cost: $400 pesos - Plus members pay: $350 pesos

Ongoing:

Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, Men’s Check Ups, Women’s Check Ups, Cardiac Check Ups – all at discounted prices.

Clinics in February:

We will be adding a new Thyroid clinic! Also, February will be our "Heart Month" – watch for some great speakers programs on various cardiology topics.

February 6, 2012 – Hotel Marriott – "Medical Matters" sponsored by HealthCare Resources, The US Consular Agency, Hotel Marriott and Sharp Hospital (San Diego). We are so excited! This is going to be HUGE! And it is all AT NO CHARGE to you! 9 am until 7 pm, visit exhibits/tables of a vast array of healthcare providers as well as a stellar speakers program running all day! Last year was a huge success and this year we are expecting the same! Watch for lots of publicity in the next week or so!

A couple of other items:

Charity Bingo – The month of January is in support of Canica’s (Kids With Cancer). January 10 and January 24, 2012. If you haven’t attended one of the Charity Bingo evenings – you should! It’s lots of fun – and great prizes – all benefiting local charities. You’ll be hearing more on Canica’s in the next few weeks as I begin to promote this small but oh-so-worthy charity. Los Mangos Subasta: The biggest and most important fundraiser of the year for Biblioteca Los Mangos is January 27, 2012 from 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm. Live auction, silent auction, fixed price items, food, bar, fun - each year this just seems to get bigger and better! And the raffle! The only one of its kind (so far) in the area! We need some more (very small only) raffle prizes and some more food donations. In an attempt to have a wide variety of food, I am requesting 24-36 "appetizers" from anyone who’d like to help out. Email me for further information and watch for upcoming publicity.

There are so many worthy charities in the Banderas Bay area. I urge you to find your passion – and support them!
