Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.
Here in Puerto Vallarta, Esperanza y Alegria, a group of women who run a support group for breast cancer survivors, are planning a series of free forums and conferences that focus on the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, as well as rehabilitation and living as a breast cancer survivor.
Everyone is invited to attend these discussions, which will be held (in Spanish) at Amerimed Hospital from 7 to 9 pm on the following dates:
Friday, October 4
Isabelle Aloi - "Rehabilitación física y linfedema" (Physical rehabilitation and lymphedema)
José Luis Quintero - "Del por qué al para que me dió cáncer" (Why did I get cancer?)
Thursday, October 10
