Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - From May 21-31, 2015, Puerto Vallarta will commemorate its 47th anniversary as a city and 97th as a municipality in an annual celebration that includes cultural events such as concerts in the main plaza and Los Arcos amphitheater, dance performances, beauty pageants, photo exhibitions, food festivals, a parade, and fireworks.

During this time, the streets of downtown Puerto Vallarta are filled with all kinds of local, national and international artists - musicians, actors, painters, sculptors, etc., who perform for the public and showcase their talents and skills.

On May 31st, a huge anniversary cake is cut and served to the public, before the city puts on a breathtaking fireworks display in the main plaza, literally closing the 2015 anniversary celebrations with a bang.

POP Music Concert by "Gio&Lu and Musicians"
Direct from Boston, Massachusetts, USA; students from the Berklee College of Music visit our city to teach at the OEPV music school, ending the course with a concert at Los Arcos del Malecon, called "More Music, More Love," and featuring LuGari and Giovanni Fernandez (singers from Jalisco and Ecuador respectively), Lyth Sigid (Iraqui-Jordanian violinist), Nino Samanic (Croatian arranger and composer) and Yogev Gabay (Israeli musician and percussionist)

• Gastronomic showcase "Flavor of Vallarta"
The Main Plaza, an icon of tradition and history of Puerto Vallarta, will be the headquarters of the Gastronomic Showcase "Flavor of Vallarta," with authentic dishes representing our municipality.

• "Floreo de salon" lasso performance, greased pole, potato sack race, waiters' race. Puerto Vallarta traditions come to life again with these enjoyable contests.
On the Malecon starting at 6:00 pm

• Recognition to "Los Muchachos de la Banca" the Boys on the Bench
The Boys on the Bench, older adults who have been friends for many decades and gather regularly at the Main Plaza, will be recognized at an event where their anecdotes will be highlighted. This event emphasizes the importance of oral tradition in the history of Puerto Vallarta, and will conclude with a concert by the Municipal Band who will play the favorite tunes of these great Puerto Vallarta friends.

Celebrating Puerto Vallarta's 47th anniversary as a city and 97th as a municipality with the participation of CADI (Day care assoc.), DIF (Family Development Org.) clubs for retired people and the general public.
Starting at Parque Hidalgo at 7:30 pm, ending at the Main Plaza

• Puerto Vallarta Anniversary Party
All together we will sing the traditional Mañanitas to Puerto Vallarta accompanied by Mariachi "Nuevo Continental" at the gazebo in the Main Plaza. Enjoy the Fireworks at the Arcos del Malecon (tentative); Cake cutting (next to the Arcos del Malecon); after which "Nuevo Continental" Mariachi will present their new music production.

If you are fortunate enough to be in Puerto Vallarta during the last two weeks of May, you will definitely have a wonderful and memorable experience. In addition to the city's anniversary celebrations, you can also enjoy Vallarta Restaurant Week, and the last few days of Vallarta Pride 2015, which ends on the 25th.
