False Drugs Invade Mexico Prensa Latina
| The PRG warned the false drugs have been detected in pharmacies and hospitals along the northern border, the black market, and internet pages. | Mexico City - The Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR) has warned of the health risk posed by sale of false medication in the country, which has risen considerably in the last few years.
The PRG said almost 40 million drugs with potential risks for consumers were seized in the last three years.
In 2004, local authorities withdrew 175,000 units of illegal medicine, and 33 million in 2006, while 341,000 either false or with overdue expiration dates have been seized so far this year.
In May, eight members of a network operating in Jalisco, Michoacan, and Distrito Federal were arrested after three minors died.
