Make a Wish Mexico: Cinderella for a Day
email this pageprint this pageemail usPVNN

All Miranda, a 5 year old girl with Renal Tuberculosis, wanted was to go the park with a pink bike, but Make a Wish Mexico made her feel like Cinderella.

I wish to... "go to the park with a pink bike," Miranda, a 5 year old girl with Renal Tuberculosis.

Granting this wish to Miranda was lovely because Miranda, as most every 5 year old girl, loves all the princesses. But Cinderella is her favourite. So the first thing to do was to contact Cinderella and her prince to spend some time with our girl.

The day her wish was granted we all met at The Anthropology Museum of Xochilmilco, which, since it is surrounded by gardens, is Miranda's favorite "park."

The people in charge at the museum were really nice to her, and gave us the opportunity to give her a surprise party. We had a great excuse since Miranda's 5th birthday had just past, so besides her wish, we had the chance to organize her FIRST birthday party.

At 10 am we knocked at her door, and when she opened it, she had her first surprise of the day - her own Cinderella dress, shoes and crown! So, just like Cinderella, Miranda had to hurry to get dressed for the "ball."

When Miranda arrived at the museum, the prince was at the door to be the first one to greet her. He came along with her to help her find her way to her party... they had to follow a trail of hearts that were scattered on the floor to guide them.

When they got to the center of the Museum, everybody was waiting for her beside a stack of presents - a bag, a Barbie doll, Barbie perfumes, books, crayons... so many gifts for our little princess!

Then, it was time to sing "Las Mañanitas" and the prince and Cinderella were there to make it even more exciting. After she blew out her candles, she thought that her "fiesta" was over, but then we asked her to close her eyes and remember what she had told us her wish was...

But all Miranda, a 5 year old girl with Renal Tuberculosis, wished for was to "go to the park with a pink bike." I will always remember her face when she opened her eyes and saw Cinderella and the prince holding a shiny new Barbie bike!

But this was not the end of Miranda's day. She was given a letter, in which Six Flags Mexico had invited her and her family to visit them and continue enjoying this wonderful experience.
