Get ready for a "fantasía" evening of dining and dancing at the 46th Annual Becas Ball, scheduled to take place at the Hotel Westin Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta on March 6th.

Polish your dancing shoes, get out your best bib and tucker and get ready for a "fantasía" evening of dining and dancing for you and the assurance of a continued scholarship for one of Puerto Vallarta's brightest and necessitous girls or boys.

WHERE? On the beach at the fabulous Hotel Westin Resort and Spa in Puerto Vallarta

WHEN? Thursday, March 6, 2008 beginning at 7 pm

WHAT? An hour of free cocktails where you will meet and greet the Who's Who of Puerto Vallarta while being serenaded by the Famous Los Bambinos followed by a gourmet three course dinner with complimentary red and white wine followed by dancing on a lighted dance floor to the incredible live music of Grupo Odisea and a live auction of unbelievable stays in exotic Mexican hotels and B & B's in Guanajuato, Patzcuaro, Tlaquepaque and in Boston's The Lenox Hotel and at Paris Las Vegas and much more as well as many surprises that must remain surprises!

WHY? To experience an evening of fun and friendship and to insure the continued success of Vallarta's oldest and (in my prejudiced opinion) most important charity, Becas Vallarta, A.C./America-Mexico Foundation, Inc., tax deductible foundations in both the U.S. and Mexico that for almost fifty years have provided the funds to thousands of Vallarta's brightest and economically neediest young people.

WHO? The generous and caring business people of Puerto Vallarta and the locals, ex-pats and tourists who recognize that the key to a better Vallarta and, indeed the world, is education and that many of the families here need a helping hand to insure the educations of their bright, ambitious and deserving children.

HOW? To get your tickets in Conchas Chinas call Buri Gray at 221-5285, South Side call Margaret Tolton at 223-1835 or Polly Vicars 223-1371, Marina call Margarita Mora at 221-3760 or Mariel de Fregoso at 221-0789 or go to The Book Store in Plaza Caracol.

The entire evening, cocktail hour, 3 course dinner with wine, dancing to live music and many surprises is only $80 USD or $850 Pesos per ticket. Where else could you get all that and contribute to such a fabulous cause for such a small investment? (I have to tell you that the first Becas Ball we attended almost 20 years ago, the tickets were $50 USD. Talk about keeping prices down!)
Polly G. Vicars and her husband of 55 years, Hubert (a.k.a. "Husband") retired to Puerto Vallarta in 1988 and soon became active members of several charitable organizations. Polly is the author of "Tales of Retirement in Paradise: Life in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico" [a sell-out!] and "More Tales of Retirement in Puerto Vallarta and Around the World." Proceeds from the sale of her books go to the America-Mexico Foundation, a scholarship foundation that is their passion.
