Wow, what an amazing experience and oh what a feeling... is all that I can say! Monday July the 6th will be a day to remember for sure! It is such an amazing feeling and I am sure that everyone that was present felt the same at the end of the packaging party, when all was finished.

As the last bags came down the stairs, we could see the volunteers also coming down and then the clap of hands started to show what a great job we all did, and how everyone should be proud to be part of this food drive.

A total of 58 volunteers gathered for the second food bagging party at the PVRPV office on the south side of Puerto Vallarta. Right from the beginning, we all seemed to be in sync and everyone seemed to know what to do. It is absolutely amazing and astonishing what 116 hands can accomplish in such little time.

From the opening of the plastic bag, to the rice, lentils, beans, pasta and Knorr Bouillon cubes, it took no time at all for the bags to start coming down the stairs and as other volunteers arrived, everyone just seemed to know exactly where to stand and what to do.

In a record time of 30 minutes, we were able to bag a total of 730 packages for the needy families here in Puerto Vallarta. With one (1 kg) bag of rice, one (1 kg) bag of lentils, one (1 kg) bag of beans, four (200 g) packages of pasta and 24 Knorr cubes in each package, we will feed one family of 4 for one week. It is amazing that it only took 30 minutes of our time, and this will mean that 730 local families will be fed for one week.

Great work everyone! We should all give ourselves a pat on the back and be so very proud of ourselves in having lent a helping hand in this food drive.

So far since the Food Drive campaign started in mid-May, we have collected over:

• 2037 kgs of Rice
• 2037 kgs of Lentils
• 2037 kgs of Beans
• 2,546.25 Kgs of Pasta*
• 48,888 Knorr Bouillon Cubes

*Please note that the amount of Pasta contributed is approximated, as some of the donated bags weighed 1 kg and others just 800 g, due to the varying package weight of different brands.

We would like to send out special thanks to Puerto Vallarta photographer Josef Kandoll, PVScene staff photographer Sarah Hepting, and PromoVision videographer Ray Dion for volunteering their time and expertise to help us capture the energy of the volunteers.

Another special "Thank You" to Manuel Galdino Castillo and Manuel Mir๓n Alvarado from the group Dueto Veracruz for singing for us. Galdino and Manuel can be found signing on the streets of Puerto Vallarta. The next time that they come up to you and offer to sing their vocals from the heart, please make sure that you help support them by buying 1 or 2 songs.
