President Felipe Calderón leads reinauguration of Jugos del Valle Plant in Mexico State.
Mexico City - President Felipe Calderón declared that the strategy to enable Mexico to emerge from this adverse economic event is investment, which, during the first half of 2009, totaled $10 billion dollars and made it possible to create jobs throughout the country.

During the re-inauguration of the Jugos del Valle Plant in Tepotzotlán, Mexico State, he stressed that Mexico has competitive advantages that should be taken advantage of, which is why he hailed the firm's announcement to invest $5 billion dollars in other words, over $65 billion pesos.

“Why is one of the world's most highly accredited and strongest firms investing in Mexico, at a time of crisis?" Because they know that crises are times of opportunity and that after the contraction the world has experienced, there will be a readjustment of pieces and players and a readjustment of markets and whoever ends up best after this readjustment, whoever picks up the best cards will win the next stage of this economic moment, which will be growth," he said.

Accompanied by state governor, Enrique Peña Nieto, and Economy Secretary, Gerardo Ruiz Mateos, the President said that the Mexican economy is more competitive due to the responsibility which public finances have been conducted and the reduction of unnecessary bureaucracy and that which is not indispensable, particularly during these complicated times.

“I am convinced that despite the problems we have, Mexico will pull through. That the difficult economic situation that affected the world and us particularly, because of our links with and dependence on the U.S. market can and will become a thing of the past," he said.

He added that Mexicans have responded to the crisis with determination and timeliness to ensure that Mexico is the country we want.

"A safe Mexico in which we will live peacefully and calmly. And that is why we have continued, intensified and reinforced our determination to combat crime so that it is acknowledged worldwide as a country in which they law is upheld and enforced," he said.

The President declared that the reopening of the Jugos del Valle plant will produce 1,500 direct jobs.

At the end of the event, President Calderón, together with Governor Enrique Peña and Muthar Kent, CEO of The Coca Cola Company as part of the reforestation campaign carried out by the firm.
