Mexico's first lady Margarita Zavala visited Juárez on Thursday to promote an agreement aimed at helping drug addicts.

The agreement between Mexican federal and Chihuahua state health officials provides for assistance to 12 rehabilitation centers in Juárez.

Officials announced that a total of $180,314 will be made available for treatment programs at the centers.

During the past two years, gangs have attacked or taken over some of the rehab centers in the city, leaving addicts without any means of treatment.
