Restaurant Week 2010 - Gourmet Food at Great Prices

Get ready, foodies! The city is celebrating with seventeen days of gourmet food at great prices. Over 30 local restaurants are plating up their best efforts for Restaurant Week, which runs from May 15th through the 31st.
When asked about Daiquiri Dick's yearly participation in Restaurant Week, owner Tari Bowman said, "For us the original idea was to get more of the local people out to try restaurants that maybe they had never been to including ourselves. We started going to a few we never tried and I think that still stands ... more local folks getting involved and local businesses."
"It definitely adds traffic and for us it is more stimulating because we have a great menu for the time period and tourism is a little bit better the second half of May than the first half, so we are collecting both tourist and local visitors," she added.
Vallarta Restaurant Week is one of the most-anticipated festivals of the year and features set menus of three-course meals (with three choices per course.) Dinners are priced at either $189 or $299 pesos at some of Vallarta's best restaurants.
According to Vallarta Lifestyles Managing Editor, Paco Ojeda, "We have a lot of acceptance from the restaurant community, we see more and more people making their travel decisions to come to Puerto Vallarta during Restaurant Week, which means that people are looking forward to each event. PV is certainly a town in which we love to eat. We love eating, we love talking about it, we love recommending, and we love dissing the restaurants that don't deliver the goods, and Restaurant Week is certainly a great opportunity to do so."
