For more information, visit CancerDeMamaClinic.com,
The non-profit Cancer de Mama organization is gearing up for their annual breast prosthesis clinic to be held the first weekend in February, 2011. Anyone wishing to volunteer is welcome to attend the first planning meeting at the La Penita RV Park, located on the highway across from Conalep school, on Tuesday, January 10 at 10 am.

For more information about this group, visit their website, CancerDeMamaClinic.com, or contact the co-chairs: Maruca Dinsmoor at (327) 274-0715 or marucadinsmoor(at)aim.com; Judy Kranjnc at joekrajnc(at)hotmail.com; or special assistant Carole Thacker at carole(at)lapenitatrailerpark.com.

The mission of the Cancer de Mama group is to provide a service that is part of the healing process for survivors of breast cancer: to give prostheses that enable the woman to restore her appearance and dignity.

In addition to the free services at the clinic, the organization funds medical expenses and distributes free brochures on self-examination and after-surgery physical therapy in Spanish throughout the medical community in the entire state of Nayarit.

For all the clients and volunteers, language and cultural barriers disappear as women reach out to each other with caring and concern for those trying to beat this terrible disease. Through the tears and hugs a spirit of hope prevails.

Donations Needed: food, bras, 3" wide lace, wigs, head scarves

Monetary donations are gratefully accepted and may be made through PayPal on the Cancer de Mama Clinic website.
