Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Vallarta Pride Organizing Committee would like to invite the general public to enjoy the highlight events of Vallarta Pride 2016, which are set to take place over the long weekend (May 26-29) of this festival that celebrates the LGBTTIQ community in our city.

Púlpito Drag Derby - May 26th at 6:00 pm
Corner of Púlpito & Olas Altas, Romantic Zone

The weekend starts with the 'Running of the Drag Queens' in the 3rd annual Púlpito Drag Derby. The fun starts at 6:00 pm with a wet-shirt contest and pre-party at Pulpito Plaza. Then, female impersonators wearing high-heels will race up and down the street and perform required stunts. Spectators are encouraged to bet on their favorites, and judges will be positioned along the route. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Amapas Neighborhood Association's Pulpito Plaza Project.

Vallarta Pride Opening Party - May 26th at 10:00 pm

The Pride Committee is excited to welcome the newest bar to Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone – Alhambra Lounge. Pride Parade 2016 - May 28 at 5:00 pm

On May 28th at 5 pm, join the thousands who will line the streets from the Sheraton to Lazaro Cardenas Park in the Romantic Zone to watch the 2016 Vallarta Pride Parade. The three-kilometer parade starts promptly at 5 pm in front of the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center and travels along the world-famous boardwalk to Lazaro Cardenas Park where parade-goers and participants will enjoy celebrity guests, including Myriam Montemayor, winner of the popular TV reality show La Academia, live entertainment, exhibitors and a food and beverage court. Idan Matalon, an Israeli video blogger, journalist, producer, model, business executive and one of the most popular YouTube LGBT personalities will serve as this year's Parade Grand Marshall.

Party at Lazaro Cardenas Park - May 28 from 6:00-11:00 pm

For the fourth consecutive year, Lazaro Cardenas Park will be the meeting place for the biggest of all the Vallarta Pride festivities - The Party in The Park. A variety of attractions will attest to diversity during this festival. In addition to exhibition stands for local nonprofits, community organizations, corporate sponsors and small businesses, food & drinks area, live DJ and lots of dancing, the main stage will feature Idan Matalon (the Grand Marshal of Vallarta Pride 2016), Myriam, Waste Sisters, Supermana, a live DJ and many other celebrities.

After enjoying all of the festivities at the Vallarta Pride 2016 Party in the Park, head over to Open Night Club for an after-party and continue celebrating until dawn.

Vallarta Pride 2016 Closing Party - May 29 at 11:00 am

The Pride Festival LGBTTIQ ends its activities with a fun and fabulous closing party proudly hosted by Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill. It will be a glorious day under the sun on Puerto Vallarta's iconic Los Muertos Beach, with the ocean, pool and sand at your toe tips, as you treat yourself to food and drink created by Cafe des Artistes. Cheer on your favorite players in the annual Drag Queens vs Leather Boys volleyball match. It will be a fond "Adios" to Vallarta Pride 2016, and look forward to Vallarta Pride 2017!
