Tierra Alta News: El Tuito Now Has High Speed Internet

May 26, 2016

Felipe Sanchez Flores, internet technician, with Xóchitl and David Kimball at the Tierra Alta eco cabin development, just outside of El Tuito. The white dish is part of the high speed internet system.

El Tuito, Jalisco, Mexico - Residents of El Tuito and surrounding areas will now have access to state of the art high speed internet service - and at reasonable prices.

Internet technician Felipe Sanchez Flores developed the high speed system which he successfully installed in the region of La Huerta, his home town. He is now installing the necessary equipment for his first 10 customers in El Tuito.

The first three clients now have access to internet service at speeds of up to 10mbg. For those who do not need the highest speed version, the system can limit use to slower speeds, such as 3 mbps so that the monthly cost will be affordable.

The one-time cost of the installation is $6,500 pesos for the equipment that Sanchez installs in every home or business that joins the system. Monthly costs will be $500 pesos for 3.07 mbps, $700 for 5.12mbps and $1,000 pesos for the maximum speed of 10mbps. Even the 3 mbg system is a marked improvement over current internet service in the El Tuito area, according to Sanchez. And he says even higher speeds than 10mbps may be possible in the near term.

El Tuito resident, Troy Martz, said, "This new high speed system is going to have a very positive impact on communications in the El Tuito area. It's especially important to people like us, who rely on the internet for our livelihood. Our position is that we can now live and work in paradise." Troy is a consultant specializing in website design. He and his wife, Pilar, have been instrumental in assisting Sanchez establish the system in El Tuito.

For David Kimball, CEO of Tierra Alta, the cabin development just north of El Tuito, "This new high speed system will make a huge difference in how we can communicate with our clients. In some ways, it will bring Puerto Vallarta and the rest of the world much closer to El Tuito... but without the traffic."

Anyone interested in seeing the system work in El Tuito should contact Troy or Pilar Martz for an appointment at 322-269-0316. Or, in Puerto Vallarta, call Xochitl or David Kimball at 322-294-2141 to ask for an appointment at Tierra Alta to see the high speed system at use in the model cabin.

El Tuito is a one hour drive south of Puerto Vallarta on Highway 200.
