Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The entire team at El Arrayán is happy to announce that the 2016-2017 season of their Traditional Mexican Cooking Classes will begin on October 10, 2016 and be held every Monday, Thursday and Saturday through the end of March 2017.

The professional chefs at El Arrayán have been offering their Traditional Mexican Cooking Classes to Puerto Vallarta residents and visitors since 2007 - and this season promises to be better than ever! So, if you like Mexican food and are looking to learn the secrets from the pros in a fun and interesting hands-on experience, this is the cooking class for you!

By popular demand, El Arrayán Co-Owner/Chef Carmen Porras and her team will be teaching a wider range of Mexican classical dishes this season. In addition to the very popular dishes taught in years past, they'll be using more than 50 different recipes for moles, tamales, fresh salsas and desserts from diverse regions in Mexico.

Carmen is someone who loves learning about and sharing traditional Mexican cooking. She is always reading antique cookbooks for inspiration and information, and watching food shows to keep up with the latest cooking trends. With this as her culinary DNA, she shares her cultural and historical knowledge of the recipes over the course of the class, which makes for a very interesting and memorable experience.

These classes are taught for people with all levels of cooking skills so, whether you are a beginner or an experienced cook, you can learn how to prepare authentic Mexican cuisine in the restaurant's all stainless steel professional kitchen - and have tons of fun at the same time!

El Arrayán offers two types of classes, but no matter which you choose, you will be learning how to make traditional Mexican recipes for appetizers, main courses, desserts and fresh salsas, which you will also be enjoying for lunch. You may also have the chance to make tortillas with fresh corn masa, if time allows.

Description of Cooking Classes:

Mondays: Breakfast + Tour + Class + Lunch

We'll meet at El Arrayán at 9:30 am, go out for a traditional Mexican breakfast, then a visit to the market and tortilla factory. When we get back to El Arrayán, you'll receive printed recipes in English, an embroidered apron, and hands-on instruction in English. Later, we'll enjoy what we cooked for lunch with a cocktail or a glass of Mexican wine. These classes, which usually end around 2:30 pm, include transportation from El Arrayán to breakfast, to market, and back to the restaurant.

Thursdays & Saturdays: Cooking Class and Lunch

Meet at El Arrayán at 11:00 am. Receive printed recipes in English, an embroidered apron, and hands-on instruction in English. Enjoy what we cooked for lunch with a cocktail or a glass of Mexican wine. These classes usually end around 2:30 pm.

Carmen Porras and her team invite you to be a part of this unique experience where the aromas, flavors and colors of Mexico come together in one place... Restaurant El Arrayán.
