Sitting at the very edge of the jungle where the Mismaloya river meets the sea, Mismaloya beach is best known as the place where "Night of the Iguana" was filmed in l963. The original movie set is now a restaurant at the far end of the 500-meter long beach, which is lined with palapa-style restaurants, jet skis, parasails, fishing boats, and tourists basking in the tropical sun.

One of the most naturally beautiful locations in Puerto Vallarta, our Mismaloya photo gallery features pictures of colorful fishing boats beached around the lagoon's edges; beautiful photographs of the protected cove and the Los Arcos rock formation rising majestically from the crystal blue water; and unforgettable images of the gently curved beach with jungle-clad mountains, waving palms, and tropical flowers serving as a backdrop.
