Puerto Vallarta - A vast array of restaurants featuring a wide variety of cuisines can be found throughout Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay. Award winning chefs from a variety of international locales have come to make their homes here, and their culinary influences have given Puerto Vallarta a distinctive flavor.

But during the month of September, many of the fine dining restaurants in Puerto Vallarta will be celebrating Las Fiestas Patrias by offering traditional Mexican dishes and special Independence Day menus and events that perfectly reflect Mexico's sophisticated tastes and charms.

From the 15th through the 18th, world-renowned Chef Thierry Blouet invites you to savor the flavors of Mexico at Cafe des Artistes. On Sept 15th, he'll be hosting a celebration dinner that includes a Gourmet Menu [see menu] and live piano & flute music with a Mexican twist by Enrique and Bob. At 11 pm, Thierry will give a commemorative speech before leading diners in the "El Grito de Independencia." The ceremony concludes with everyone singing the Mexico national anthem and a tequila toast.

In addition to the Austrian delights featured on his regular menu, Andreas Rupprechter of Cafe Maximilian will be celebrating El Mes de la Patria by offering Traditional Mexican Dishes [see menu], including the Mexican dish that is most emblematic of the holiday - the red white and green Chiles en Nogada, a chile stuffed with a sweet-savory pork and fruit picadillo filling, topped with a blanket of snow-white fresh walnut sauce and a scattering pomegranate seeds.

Alberto Perez invites you to join him on September 15th to celebrate Independence Day at one of the most exclusive gourmet restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Vista Grill. Featuring a Special 3 Course Menu [see menu], fine tequilas and Mexican coffees, live music performed by a Mexican Quartet from Vera Cruz and front row seats for the city's fabulous fireworks display for only $380 pesos per person, Vista Grill is the perfect place to spend "Noche Nacional."

La Petite France Restaurant plans to celebrate Independence Day with a magnificent Mexican Fiesta that combines a delicious 5 Course Dinner Menu [see menu] accompanied by live entertainment featuring Marimba Tuxpam, the romantic voice of Caesarean, folkloric dancers, and singer Alma Rocío of Guadalajara. According to owner Nacho Cadena, La Petite's Mexican Fiesta is "Sin duda, la mejor opción para el 15 de septiembre."

Fine dining has become a favorite pastime for those who live in Puerto Vallarta, as well as for those who are visiting our beautiful city. September's celebration of the Fiestas Patrias stands out among the social activities celebrated in Mexico each year - so take this opportunity to savor the flavors of Mexico at the some of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta.
