Love Your Enemies, It Drives Them Crazy!

Last week's challenge raised a question about forgiveness; one girl told me "What he did was unforgivable, I can't forgive him, why should I?"
Because while you can't do anything about the wrong that was done, you can decide how much it will let it hurt you, and for how long. Don't let that man keep hurting you for the rest of your life, he doesn't deserve that much of your power!
A wrong is like a snake bite. We didn't mean for it to happen but we can't do anything to change the fact that it did. What we can do is decide how much we will let it poison us.
In continuing to hold on to this pain, she is feeding it, keeping it alive, making it grow. The longer she allows herself to focus on the awful thing that happened to her, the longer she will be hurt by it, the deeper that hurt will go. Currently the poison from that wound is tainting all of her relationships with men.
In forgiving him, she sets herself free, she takes back her power, she regains control of her life, and she is better able to look for the miracle.
I attribute much of my power as a Shaman to a man who, when I wouldn't marry him decided no-one else would have me either. He quit his job and devoted his life to trying to kill me through black magic. He was an immensely powerful energy worker whose psychosis tirelessly drove him to summon all manner of evil against me.
I was forced to take a year off and work even more tirelessly at strengthening my light and my own power in order to survive. If I ever get sick of teaching holistic health I could easily teach Defense Against Dark Arts at Hogwarts!
A part of my growth involved learning that in order to experience anything at all the exact opposite has to appear: We can't experience up without down or left without right. I wanted to be a powerful light worker making a significant difference in the world. But as much as I wanted this I am lazy, so this unholy motivation was provided, and because of it I grew stronger and faster than I ever believed possible.
I learned that when we decide what we will experience ourselves as in relation to darkness or evil, it loses its power over us and we can actually use it to empower ourselves. After all, darkness is the only thing that makes light visible.
I also learned that unforgiveness takes up too much energy that can be used for other things, and that we can do ANYTHING given strong enough motivation!
