After we wrapped the recent filming of House Hunters International here in Puerto Vallarta, I sat back and reflected on how far Timothy Real Estate Group has come in such a short time and in such a changing market.

Starting a business is hard under the best of circumstances and I wanted to share our story in the hopes that it might inspire others who are starting out or thinking about it. (Read Chapter One)

Chapter 2: Timothy Real Estate Group is Born

Starting my own company in the middle the 2009 worldwide economic crisis, and doing it in Mexico may have been a crazy, but again... I jumped in with both feet...

I wanted to do this right. This was an opportunity to create my own company with my personality, with my voice, and with my perspectives about customer service, teamwork, enjoying my career, and sharing it with others. This was an opportunity to really study and create my own branding or personality in the market. I had the opportunity to start everything from concept to office space from scratch.

As we worked on our corporate brand and concept I was able to design my own work environment and office space. I could apply everything I wanted to be and project into the space that we would occupy. It was a lot of pressure, and at a time when everyone around me was saving, I was spending, better said, investing in my future and the future of those that would become part of my team. I was nervous, but I kept my focus on the future and where we could go.

We opened our doors in March of 2010 as Timothy Real Estate Group, and in the midst of a very difficult economy when other offices have been closing we have grown to be a leader in the market place in that very short time. We consistently found new clients and delivered the standard and quality of service that I envisioned from the outset. This was important to me - and being able to control every aspect of the real estate transaction and the customer contact using my original vision was paying off.

As the year progressed, I realized that none of my fears had come to pass and all of my expectations for how this would work out had been met. With that behind me it was time to think outside the box on how to promote the agency. This is what led us to the next phase in our evolution...
