Your thoughts on the Middle East War are as varied from each other as the backgrounds from which we come. For Veterans, these thoughts will be mostly remembered in the reflective light of our service in the Armed Forces, because we are at war.

All Veterans reflect on their military experience from time to time, and if it includes combat situations, we reflect even more so. I believe that if we have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, then we reflect and relate most all of our experiences to trauma that war caused in our lives.

A Veteran with P.T.S.D. notices the difference between themselves and non-veterans. This awareness will increase if one is unable to assimilate into the general working life in America.

This will mean an increase in the number of vets seeking compensation based on P.T.S.D., which is even now verified to be thirty percent of all Iraq Veterans, by those answering "yes," when asked if they have suffered stress-related conditions in pre-discharge interviews.

In recent CNN News reports, these P.T.S.D. conditions are now being linked to the rapes and murders of an Iraqi Family committed by 3 American troops. Do not tie these revolting actions by 3 American troops to the trauma of combat stress. It was a criminal act, not to be confused with the P.T.S.D. condition resulting from combat.

Those crimes carried out by predisposed criminals in combat are very different from P.T.S.D. I reject the reporter's and news media's tie-in of the crime to P.T.S.D. Their stories are totally ignorant, the media is busy searching for the logic of insane criminal acts.

It is extremely difficult to seek help as a combat veteran, it goes against their self-image, and to tie the criminal acts up with a traumatic response to war is just wrong.

One Arab Speaks Out! An interview that was aired on Feb 21st on AL JAZEERA T.V. and just made available on the internet at (click HERE for video) is a must see.

The women interviewed is an Arab American Psychologist, Ms. Sultan. She makes her statements debating the show's Host and a Mula, and although she is declared a heretic against Allah, the Koran and Islam, she stands her ground and is brave in the face fanatical religious beliefs. It is the first time that I have seen any comment about Muslin religion and its war-like mantra, which squarely is the cause of the crisis in the middle east.

Veterans, I would like your opinions on a Veteran's Center in Puerto Vallarta, a facility designed to enhance the retirement for Veterans living, or wishing to live, in Puerto Vallarta. The sharing of your ideas is very important to me, so please send me your thoughts at mophmx@yahoo.com or david.lord@yahoo.com.
