A Gallery of Cats
email this pageprint this pageemail usLaura Gelezunas - PVNN

Long time PV residents, Don and Patricia Gallery, believe all nine lives of a cat are precious and they hope the lives of their 15 cats will remain that way.

"I have always been a cat lover," says Patricia, "and I converted, my husband, Don, into a cat lover, as well. I was thrilled that he came to adore the many cats and their personalities as I do."

The couple works as active cat advocates in PV, and have been for many years. They assist local agencies with the better treatment of felines through monetary donations and hands-on support, literally.

Some of their cats have been rescued from the island and others have been dropped off at their door. In their neighborhood, they are known as the "cat people." And neighbors often ring the doorbell and run, leaving a box of kittens behind. The couple has nursed many back to health and found new homes for them or they keep them as part of their family.

Unfortunately, Patricia has developed asthma and allergies relating to her cats, according to her doctor. He says she needs to part with them so she does not suffer from further heart ailments, which the asthma has caused.

So, Patricia and Don are looking for good homes for their multitude of cats. Actually, Patricia can't part with all them, but a good number will need new owners. Their cats are spoiled rotten and do not spend any time on the street, so new owners should be aware of this.

Check out the Gallery of Cats on video in the viewer box above. Maybe you can find a great new feline friend.

If you are interested in adopting a cat, the Gallery's can be contacted at: (322) 222-3722 or emailed at donpat@prodigy.net.mx.
