Hospital Medasist is pleased to announce a new "official" Detox Program (drugs-alcohol) that has been implemented. Thanks to the organization of medical director Dra. Lety Baños, Psychiatrist Dra. Adi Dominguez, Therapist Lynn Rogers, Dr. Carlos Hernandez (internist-cardiologist), support from the local community and HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta, this four day inpatient plan provides an integrated assessment, both physical and mental, for individuals struggling with addiction. As well, there is support for family members, which is vitally important. All participants are bi-lingual.

Upon admission, the patient is appraised of his-her physical status (heart, liver, kidney, lungs) as more often than not, there are some resulting bodily damages from the drug use. Combined with the psychiatric assessment and treatment by Dra. Dominguez, the person's "whole" body is treated, handling the immediate withdrawal symptoms.

This program is for people who want to take that huge and life-changing step towards recovery and is not a forced admission. As well, it is a private pay admission (meaning it is not free).

We feel that this is another fine addition to local health care services to the Puerto Vallarta area. For more information, please contact Pamela Thompson at 044-322-107-7007 or pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com. Further support for individuals and families is also available through AA/NA and Al Anon. For Banderas Bay area AA-NA and Al Anon information, click HERE or visit RecoverPV.com.
