| The 2nd Annual PEACE Art and Philanthropy Gala will be held on March 12 at the Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita. For more information, contact Nicole(at)peacemexico.org. | | Punta de Mita, Nayarit – Local women and children will exhibit their one-of-a-kind, hand-made artwork in the second annual Art and Philanthropy Gala, benefiting PEACE, a local non-profit, on Friday, March 12 at the Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita.
Manos Unidos por la Mujer (United Hands for Women,) one of PEACE’s four principle programs, teaches women how to make unique handicrafts, and empowers them to move toward financial independence by providing business resources, education and training.
"The time and skill it takes to produce this artwork is truly amazing," said Molly Fisher, Director and Founder of PEACE. "This event allows the women and children to showcase their products and provides essential funding for PEACE to continue these kinds of programs."
The Mexican-themed evening includes:
• 6 pm (Jalisco time) - Commencement • Cocktails and Mexican Buffet • Live Music by Frixoleros • Art Exhibition from the women of Manos Unidos and from the children of PEACE • Silent Auction and Live Art Auction • 11 pm (Jalisco time) – End
