Puerto Vallarta based Aviana Productions has been awarded a prestigious Aegis Award for its production of a marketing documentary film with golfing great Jack Nicklaus and DINE/Punta Mita.
The short film was shot in Punta Mita, Mexico, near the resort town of Puerto Vallarta, where Nicklaus' company, Nicklaus Design, has built two oceanside Jack Nicklaus Signature courses at the Four Seasons and St. Regis Resorts.
Aviana Productions uses the increasingly popular method of Internet video marketing/communication to reach audiences via websites and social marketing venues.
"We were able to use the show-and-tell medium of streaming video to show people exactly what it's like to play the course and do it with the greatest golfer who ever lived," said Jon Duncanson, co-founder of Aviana Productions. "It's all about telling a story in an interesting way so that people want to hear it."
Duncanson, along with business partner Sylvia Gomez, are former award winning television journalists who earlier this month helped engineer a surprise come-from-behind victory in the governor's race in Sinaloa, Mexico. It was the most extensive use ever of Internet-based media to raise voter awareness of a political candidate in Mexico.
The Aegis Awards are the North American video industry's premier competition for peer recognition of outstanding film and video productions and non-network TV commercials.
