(video by Video Diva Productions) | | The First Annual Festival del Concierge, hosted by Thierry's Prime Steak House in the Plaza Peninsula Complex on November 6th, was a resounding success with over $58,000 MXN raised for three separate Puerto Vallarta charities: Foundation of the Americas, which provides financial help to union hotel and restaurant workers in need, Project Pitillal, which helps disabled children, and VABB, which helps rescue and rehabilitate abandoned animals.
Eleven restaurants participated in the event, including Thierry's Prime Steak House, Cafe des Artistes, Cocina de Autor, Vista Grill, La Palapa, Si Señor, Blue Shrimp, Prime 159, Rios, Frascati, Punto V and River Cafe. Canapés and samplers of the restaurants' signature menu items were served, along with a broad selection of wines. Music was provided by Roberto Nuñez, aka "DJ Pelón."
The evening's highlight was a serenade by Fernando, one of the kids from Project Pitillal, whose rendition of Bon Jovi's "It's My Life" had the whole crowd clapping along. Later, Fernando was called into service to help with "The Grand Raffle," a prize drawing that awarded free hotel stays, meals for two, massages, art prints, boat and canopy tours and jewelry items to 113 lucky winners.
