Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Those of us lucky enough to live in the Bay of Banderas and own a camera are well and truly blessed. This area is one gigantic photo op. Now there is a new resource for our fabulous nature photos.
This years' North American Nature Photography Association's Nature Photography event will challenge NANPA members to take a nature photograph on June 15 and upload it for publication in the July/August issue of Ripples, NANPA's bi-monthly newsletter.
All photos will be published and there is no cost for submission. Photos for submission MUST be taken on June 15, 2011 within walking distance of wherever you are on that day.
New This Year! All photos submitted by members for Nature Photography Day will also be featured in an album on NANPA's Facebook page. The maximum size of photos has been increased to allow publication of a much larger image for this purpose. See details below.
Following are the full event rules and submission detail:
• Only one photo per NANPA member. Choose wisely!
• Must be a nature subject.
• Must be taken within walking (or bicycle-riding) distance of wherever you are on June 15.
• Image must be taken on June 15 and uploaded by end of day, June 21. An upload form will be available from this page on June 15-21 only.
• Maximum dimensions are 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high, JPEG format, 72 ppi, file size no larger than 256 Kb.
• All images entered will appear in the July/August issue of Ripples. Members submitting photos grant NANPA the right to print the image in the July/August issue of Ripples.
• No caption will appear with your image - only a photo credit.
• Only uploaded images will be accepted (no email or CDs) and uploading is the responsibility of the NANPA member.
Remember - the main goal of this event is to capture a scene in your backyard (or wherever you happen to be) and not increase your carbon footprint travelling to a special location. Keep it simple, make it fun!
A submission button will be available on the NANPA website beginning June 15th. For more information, visit nanpa.org.
