Bucerías, Nayarit - Founded as a non-profit organization to promote Spanish/English education and interaction, the Bucerías Bilingual Community Center (BBCC) has a mission: to offer English instruction to Mexican residents and to offer Spanish classes to a growing number of part and full time Anglo residents who are interested in meaningful interaction with their Mexican neighbors in the small pueblo of Bucerías, northeast of Puerto Vallarta.

Juntos Aprendemos ("Together we Learn") is the BBCC motto. The premise is that language and cultural exchange in a supportive environment expands global perspective and enhances job opportunities for the Mexican nationals who participate.

Computer Workshops
Marylou has taught for the BBCC the past 3 years and now can offer her knowledge to you at your place of business, at your home or at the BBCC. Want to know how to do spread sheets, attachments, save pictures to files, or insert pictures into your Christmas letter? She’s a pro! Conversation Café
Moderator: Domingo and Sandi
When: Saturdays 10:30 pm – 12 noon
Cost: Suggested donation is $20 pesos. Come and enjoy a conversation in your non-native language. Informal and lots of fun! English speakers practice Spanish and Spanish speakers practice English. A wonderful opportunity to engage with your community.

Forever Spring Farmer and Artisan Market
Host: BBCC
When: Every Saturday 10 am – 2 pm
This is where you can pick up beautiful organically grown vegetables, fresh breads and pastry, wonderful homemade tamales and chicken mole, special coffees, salsas to die for, colorful woven baskets, exquisite wood carvings, beautiful shawls, unique pieces of jewelry, amazing magnets for the fridge and much, much more. And, this is where you will find old friends and make new ones. It’s a social event and a lovely way to spend your Saturday mornings!

Library
Open to the general public on Tuesdays from 12-3 pm and Thursdays from 10 am to 1 pm.
The library is trying to encourage the locals to use their resources to help in their English classes but they also have many English books for those children that live here or are on vacation.

Spanish Classes
Instructor: Jorge Soria
When: Mondays – Fridays (Call 329-298-3527 to schedule)
Cost: $110 pesos per 1 1/2 hour class; $130 pesos for workbook that serves all levels. Intermediate & Advanced student placement is by oral interview. All fees are due at time of registration.

Summer is the perfect time to focus on Spanish. If you work with Jorge over the summer, you’ll find yourself speaking much, much more Spanish this fall. He has more time to devote to you and you have more time to spend on learning. And, you can always practice what you learn each Saturday at the Conversation Café!

Amigos de Bucerías Summer Socials
Host: BBCC & Amigos
When: Monthly (dates to be announced)
Social gatherings for locals and visitors, including potlucks, movies, bingo, music and more. Fun evenings on the patio and in the garden. Beer and wine available at discounted prices. Everyone is welcome.

Cost: $900 pesos for 3 months; $250 pesos paid monthly
