A behind-the-scenes look at the filming of 'I Brake for Gringos,' a coming of age comedy based on two high school kids who come to Puerto Vallarta and have the adventure of a lifetime.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - 'I Brake for Gringos,' a coming of age comedy based on two high school kids who come to Puerto Vallarta and have the adventure of a lifetime, started shooting on Monday, May 14th at the beautiful Fiesta Americana in the city's hotel zone.

The first official week of filming saw all five of the main stars on set, including Devon Werkheiser as Logan; Sean Marquette as Blake; Camilla Belle as Gaby; Sara Paxton as Lina; Silverio Palacios as Chuy; and a special appearance by Héctor Jiménez.

Fiesta Americana was the set location for the first week of filming with scenes being shot in the lobby, main entrance, beach, hotel rooms, and the pool, where the Spring Break Party Madness scene - complete with crazy inflatable water slides, bikini contests, and a DJ spinning crazy hits - was filmed.

When the actors needed a rest from filming they took time off to enjoy some unique Puerto Vallarta tours and activities. Sean Marquette enjoyed a day swimming with the dolphins at Splash Water Park. Both actors, Sean and Devon Werkheiser also spent a fun exhilarating day on Canopy River's Expedition Tour. At the end of the week the production crew and cast had a great dinner at Pincho de Ole then winded down with a party at Barra Bar.

Week 2's production of I Brake For Gringos started on May 22nd at the Flea Market on the Isla Rio Cuale, integrating "Extras" and local shop owners in the first scene. From there, the all-important Chase scene took prominence for the rest of the week, as it was shot in areas of Old Town and along the Malecón in downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The movie's all-important car chase scene took place all along the Malecón last week causing an official closure for all car and foot traffic. This was one of the filming's most difficult shots as it involved over 50 Extras, 20 Stuntmen, and cameras mounted in shops and balconies, as well as on bicycles and cars. Thanks went out to Juan Manuel Vilchis, Stunt Supervisor, for coordinating the chase scene. Local police were on hand to ensure everyone's safety, as the cars barreled down the street at high speeds.

On Friday, May 25th, Joe Francis, who will be playing his own cameo in future scenes, arrived on the set. Also on set last week was Jordi Molla who will be playing Dorian, the villain of the movie, in scenes that are being filmed this week.

Unfortunately, due to Hurricane Bud, filming last Friday night and Saturday morning was delayed until this week. However, as this is the film business, scenes were switched around to allow some filming to be done.

Special appearances for week 2 were Alejandro Edda as Poncho the cop, Olga Segura, Marco Antonio Caudillo, and Karla Souza. The cast and production crew finished the week with a dinner at de Santos Restaurant and a Sunday beach party at Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis' home in Punta de Mita, where the cast, writer, and some of the production crew members spent the day eating delicious food, jet skiing, and just relaxing.

The third week of filming sees the production crew and cast finishing the Chase scene and shooting new scenes on the Malecón and at the Palenque Arena in Pitillal.

Stay tuned for Week 3 highlights.
