Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - We would like to invite you to the Colectika Ancestral Contemporary Art Gallery on Wednesday, Feb. 27th, to meet the legendary Oaxacan wood carvers, Jacobo and Maria Angeles. As part of the traditional Wednesday night Art Walk, a cocktail reception will be presented from 6 pm until 10 pm.
Come and see two of the most collected artists from Oaxaca demonstrate their traditional wood carving and how they create the natural paints that make their pieces sought after by collectors. Inspired by the traditional Zapotec codices that covered pyramids like Monte Alban and Mitla, their pieces are covered in an intricate myriad of symbols that tell a story.
Jacobo and Maria's incredible work is shown in museums and galleries all around the world including the historic Smithsonian Native American Museum.
The artists themselves will be in the gallery from 12 pm until 8 pm to answer any questions that you may have about their work. Please don't miss this opportunity to meet Jacobo and Maria and see why their work is sought after by museum and collectors around the world today.
Collectiva is located in Downtown Puerto Vallarta at G. Sanchez #858, on the corner of Allende. For more information, telephone Kevin at (322) 222-2302.
