Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - SETAC, Puerto Vallarta's LGBTQ Community Center, announced an important donation in the amount of $180,140 pesos from the organizers of Beef Dip, an annual circuit party that takes place in Puerto Vallarta during the months of January and February.
"Year after year, the international bear community makes Puerto Vallarta their winter destination of choice," explained SETAC's Executive Director, Paco Arjona. "The donation will be used to further fulfill the Community Center's mission to eradicate HIV and other sexually transmitted infections among the LGBTQ community in Jalisco's Coastal Area and around Banderas Bay."
"We are truly grateful that Beef Dip organizer, Steve Buczek always keeps SETAC in mind when it comes to supporting local non-profit organizations," added Arjona.
Aside from offering rapid HIV testing and counseling services, the SETAC Community Center organizes film screenings, discussion groups and other activities to support the local LGBTQ community.
The purpose of the SETAC Community Center, located at Aldanaca 178, 4A & 4B, in the Colonia Versalles of neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, is to provide essential services to the community, including physical and mental health treatment, referrals, and education in an atmosphere of safety, free from discrimination.
