Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - American citizens living in the Costa Banderas region will have no excuse for not voting in the U.S. mid-terms elections on November 6, 2018. The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico offers free voter registration assistance locally, as well as information to help US citizens register and vote either electronically or by mail from anywhere in Mexico.
The Federal Voter Assistance Guide suggests that U.S. citizens register 90 days before the election. Right now there are only 68 days before election day, so if you want to vote on November 6, you need to register now!
Puerto Vallarta
• Daiquiri Dick's: From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays, September 5, 12, 19 & 26th, and on Thursday, September 6th. Daiquiri Dick's is located at Olas Altas 314 on Los Muertos Beach in Colonia Emiliano Zapata.
• I Shop & Mail-Peninsula Plaza: From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, September 20th. I Shop & Mail is located at Blvd Francisco Medina Ascencio 2485 in Vallarta's North Hotel Zone.
Bucerías
Casa Tranquila: From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesdays, September 4, 11, 18 & 25. Casa Tranquila is located at Calle Morelos #7 in Bucerías, Nayarit.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
Ana Bananas Bar & Grill: From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesdays, September 4, 11, 18, and 25th. Ana Bananas is located at Tiburón #42 in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Nayarit.
If you can't make it to one of the local registration sites there are two easy to use websites: VoteFromAbroad.org and fvap.gov. If your state allows, you may be able to register and then cast your ballot online.
After completing the FPCA, registered voters should receive their absentee ballots by September 22. As soon as you receive yours, please vote and return it your state election official via email, fax, or mail, depending on your state's requirements.
The last day(s) GOTV will collect ballots to be mailed to the U.S. will be September 26 in Puerto Vallarta and September 25 in Bucerias and La Cruz.
If you do not receive your absentee ballot in time to return it by the State deadline, contact your local election office, or visit the Democrats Abroad GOTV booths at the above mentioned Banderas Bay area locations, where Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) will be available.
